Post Microblading Information

What to expect over the next few weeks:

Your first microblading session is the “foundation session.”  The design is quite dark for the first week and will soften as they heal over the next month. Since everyone has different skin, some people will retain a lot of color and others may heal very light or even patchy. This first session is not meant to heal perfectly as your “perfection session” will be during your retouch in 6-10 weeks. We will be able to touch up any light spots, build additional texture, color, and make any corrections to achieve the perfect brow.

Healing Timeline:

Directly after microblading: Looks great!

3-5 days: Wow! My Brows got a lot darker.

7-10 day: My brows look kind of scabby.

10-14 days: Okay, these look patchy.

Week 2-4: All my microblading is starting to look really light, is that normal??

Week 4-6: Whew! Initial desired brow color is starting to come through again!

Week 6-10: Okay, I’m liking these but it’s time to perfect them!

After-care information:

The microbladed area will be dark for the first several days and is expected to fade up to 50 percent after the first three days into a natural shade. While healing, the tattoo will look spotty. Do not be alarmed by fading after the first application. We will not be able to see the final color until at least three weeks after your retouch.

First Day: Gently blot the treated area 2-3 times with the provided wipes. Apply a small amount of the medical barrier cream after blotting.

First Week: Gently cleanse the treated area 1-2 times a day with an antibacterial soap and rinse with water to prevent infection and scabbing. Otherwise, keep the area dry. Too much water can exfoliate the skin and affect color retention. Apply a small amount of medical barrier cream 2-3 times a day to keep the treated area moist, unless you have very oily skin.

General Rules:

  • For one week avoid facial cleansers, chlorine water, Retin-A on pigmented areas, hot/steamy showers, sun exposure (wear oversized sunglasses if need be) hot tubs, and saunas.
  • Shower with your back to the water to avoid excessive water exposure on brows as well as exposure to shampoo and conditioner.
  • Do not rub skin when washing your face for at least 10 days.
  • Do not pick of scratch tattooed areas.
  • Do not wear make up on your brows until the area is healed. (7-10 days)
