Beaded Row Extension Hair Home Maintenance

What to expect from newly installed Beaded Row Extensions the first 3-7 days after:

  • Slight discomfort from bead application and added weight of the hair. Extensions should not be painful, and your natural hair should not be pulled out at the root, if you experience this call the salon right away so adjustments can be made.
  • Hair will feel heavier after a shower. This is normal. It is from the extra water that the extensions retain. Towel dry as best as you can before you start brushing using the recommended brush. (Wet brush)
  • When brushing your new rows be mindful of the placement of the beads and wefts. Start at the ends of your hair and work your way to the root. As you are brushing, please hold the root of your weft to the base of head so the beads are not pulled out of place from brushing too aggressively.
  • Do not wear your hair in a high ponytail for at least 5 days as your application will be fresh and too tight to be pulled in an opposite direction. A low loose ponytail is fine.

Extension Care

  • You MUST use recommended L’ANZA products purchased at Blush Salon. Extensions cannot moisturize themselves like your natural hair can. Be generous when applying moisture products to your extensions and work evenly through ends.

PRODUCTS TO USE:

  • Moisture shampoo and conditioner.
  • Deep conditioning treatments.
  • Moi Moi leave-in spray every time you wash.
  • Hair Treatment Oil for shine, moisture, and to keep the cuticle of hair strands smooth.
  • Stimulating Treatment spray to help keep your hair follicles healthy and strong to support the extra weight of extensions.
  • Smoothing products or moisture creams can also be used.
  • Any other heat protecting sprays/creams recommended.
  • Safe SPF’s: Bare Republic Mineral Face Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50, Supergoop Zinc screen 100% Mineral Lotion SPF 40, PCA Sheer Tint Broad Spectrum SPF 45, and Urban Environment Tinted UV Protector Broad Spectrum SPF 43.

PRODUCTS TO NOT USE:

  • Purple shampoo or any toning products. These may help the look of your extensions but can severely dry them out. Should you need a tonal enhancement, schedule a gloss or hyper glaze.
  • Volume products. You will not need these for your extensions. They will create enough volume on their own and volume products can also dry your hair out. You CAN use volume products on your natural hair.
  • Anything that is not a professional salon product.
  • Any skin or hair products that list Avobenzone (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane) or Octocrylene as ingredients. These are found in certain sunscreens and can turn the hair pink/orange.

Washing and Drying Extensions

  • When washing the hair be mindful of bead placement and wefts. Clean them by lightly scrubbing around them. As your hair grows out you will be able to slide your fingers under the wefts slightly. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Condition ends of extensions first and then continue to natural hair. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Do not let your extensions sit in a towel. This can cause them to dry out and tangle.
  • Drying hair should be done immediately after washing or after you have air-dried until hair is 50% dry.
  • Please do not let your extensions sit wet for too long. It will put too much weight on your beads and track; when the extensions are left wet for too long it can also cause an unpleasant smell.

Styling Extensions

  • Using any L’ANZA products for thermal/sun protection and moisture will prolong the life of your extensions.
  • DO NOT use hot rollers.
  • Do not overheat the hair with your tools. Leaving heat on your hair too long can not only damage your extensions but can also damage your natural hair.
  • Do not use heat higher than 350° on any styling tool.

Extensions are an investment, and we want you to love your extensions as much as we love them. Please treat them with care and do not hesitate to call Blush for questions!

Enjoy, Beautiful!
